Music for Séances: Shape CDR Information

The CDRs used for the Music for Séances boxes are made to be played in a drop-tray style CD player with an indentation meant to hold 3" (80MB) CDs. This is common on some CD players and CD-ROM drives. Here are some examples of drop-tray style CD players and drives. Note the 3" indentation that will hold the Shape CDR in the tray. The Shape CDRs will also play in some video game consoles and any CD player that has a "hub" that holds the CD instead of a tray, such as these examples:

Please note: the above style players are guaranteed safe to play the Music for Séances: Shape CDRs! They have all been tested with CD players as old as 1985 made by Sony, Techniques, and Phillips, and are fully Sony/Phillips Red Book and ISO 9600 compliant, and should play in every way like a normal CD.

Music for Séances: CD Players to Avoid

Problems tend to occur with the "Board" Shape CDRs in the following kind of players and should be avoided. DO NOT try to use any Shape CDR in these types of players:

Front-loading CD players/CD-ROM drives
CD players with a rounded, not square edge on the 3" tray indentation
Automobile players
iPods (kidding)

We strongly advise against trying to use them in players like those above. If you are unable to play your board, simply wrap it in paper with your return address, put it in an envelope and send it to:
